Why we're building it
There is a lot of support available to UK manufacturers. The trouble is that it sits in hundreds of different places.
Grant schemes, growth hubs, trade associations, colleges, apprenticeship providers, export advisers, the HSE, the IPO, local authorities and any number of consultants all have something to offer. Most owner-managers only come across the useful ones by chance, usually because someone at an event happened to mention them.
ManufacturingUK.org puts it all behind one front door. It is organised around what a manufacturing business needs, it is looked after by people who know the sector, and it costs SMEs nothing to use.
Who's behind it
"My mission is simple: to serve, connect, inform and support UK manufacturing SMEs."
Andrea Wilson spent more than 32 years in SME manufacturing at Hone-All Precision, through to an equity sale, a five-year earn-out and her exit. She founded Support UK Manufacturing Ltd to put that experience and network to work for the whole sector.
